While standing at my mothers knee
I remember her loving words spoken softly
Telling how Jesus died for me
That I should live my life for Thee
The Bible tells of Calvary
Of Jesus Christ and His love for me
Of His shed blood upon a tree
To cover my sins for eternity
Lord, I come on bended knee
To ask forgiveness and be set free
Of all my sins and miseries
And plead the blood you shed for me
When I am alone and cry to Thee
Your loving arms encircle me
To give me warmth and comfort me
And ease my pain so joyfully
Oh Lord, my praise I sing to Thee
And claim your promise eternally
Of your shed blood on Calvary
Please take my heart and set me free
